Sustainability

Throughout the event we use energy-efficient lighting, as well as smart meters and sensors. Central cooling runs via electricity and district heating is mostly used by the venue; Any residual heat is used via the city grid. Where gas is used, it is 100% green gas.

All attendees are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and water stations will be available. Sensors and aerators are installed to minimise water consumption.

Network X provides food from sustainable and fresh ingredients from Paris. No red meat will be served during the event and both vegan and vegetarian options will be available. At the event we will endeavour to have no single-use plastic unless absolutely necessary. Food is available from the outlets on the show floor at all times during show hours.

Network X speakers will be addressing the impact of telecoms on the environment, as well as the need for the industry to become more inclusive and diverse. More specifically our Headliners Stage, partner workshops and conference tracks will address best practice for telcos looking to build an ESG strategy, as well as networks and services that have a positive impact on the environment (mobile/5G and fiber).

We will continue to limit the use of printed signage onsite and will instead use digital screens where possible to minimise waste. All carpet used throughout the event will be 100% recyclable. Sustainability advertising onsite will look to encourage attendees to think about their carbon footprint as well as publicise what we are doing to be a more sustainable event. The lanyards given to all attendees used will be made of recycled materials and badges will come without plastic holders to avoid single-use plastics. We encourage all attendees to return their lanyard before leaving so we can either use again or hand over to the sponsor for them to reuse.

Network X exhibitors have been provided with Informa's Checklist for Exhibiting Sustainably at a Physical Event. Moving forward we encourage all our exhibitors to help us in not using disposable exhibition stands. This means that all core elements such as walls, archways, counters etc. should be constructed in a way which will ensure they are reused, such as system build or stock panels. In parts of EMEA the majority of stands are already built in this way, and through Better Stands we aim to help guide the rest of the region who do not yet benefit from this construction practice. Next year this will become part of our stand regulations and compliance will be monitored throughout the exhibiting process, from stand plan submission through to onsite review.

Network X will host it’s annual morning run for all attendees to join if they chose. Rest area’s will be available on the show floor and Mobile Massage will be onsite again for 2023 to work towards reducing: stress, anxiety and depression, boost a heathier immune system and so on. Should any attendees require access to a private room (e.g a mother’s room or prayer room) we are more than happy to accommodate, we encourage attendees to visit the registration desk if required.

As part of the registration process we ask all registrants if they have any access requirements so we can support wherever possible.

As part of the 2023 event we will be encouraging all clients building their stands to incorporate a usable shelf less than 0.8m with a void in the lower part of at least 0.3m deep, 0.6m wide and 0.7m high allowing the passage of feet and knees of a person in a wheelchair. Any stand with a floor higher than 2cm must be equipped with an access ramp. These requirements will also apply to all informa built areas on the show floor.

Pets are not allowed at Network X, guide dogs or assistance pets will be permitted.
